Workshop with liz wiltzen

I had Liz Wiltzen come in from Banff to do a daily painting workshop for the FCA, We painted on tiny little 6x8 and 6x6 panels.

Liz painting tomatoes as a demo, and myself with the shell

The most valuable thing I learned was break up the line (I didn't like the line of shadow cutting across my shell nor the line of light reflecting back ) Liz stopped by and painted for me the light, as a broken line, I never considered that as an option, we also painted the shadow - punched out the shadow colours which also break up the line. Thanks Liz.

Ocean Treasure

Ocean treasure , I love the feeling that shells give to me, perhaps the call of the ocean, reminiscant of long hot days at the beach, the sand, Yes the sand.

workshop with Ingrid

This is the third workshop with Ingrid's oil painting instruction for the FCA, I stayed up wee into the late hours to work on my peonies and have a few more touches to do. I changed it dramatically...no new photo as I donated this to the Airdrie Food Bank at the Empty Bowls Festival, hope it finds a nice home and helps out a hungry family in the interim.

encaustic art

On the weekend I held a workshop for the FCA with Ken Bourassa. The method is to paint with wax.
