 Using the SoFlat by olden I decided to approach the fuschia with this new medium 

Gouache and soft pastel

Experimenting with mixed media, here i have soft pastel over gouache.

 I realized the gouache just got darker after subsequent layering 

I decided to try soft pastel highlight marks over this one
