Painting Process for Rankin

30 Minutes into the video:
A basic drawing

One hour into the video;
Adding dynamic flesh tone colours

Two hours into the video
Filling in the spaces with lighter values

 slight changes which take the longest

I thought the face looked too wide so I cut off the left side and had to change the position of the nose and left eye, he had a slight tilt to the head which I decided to change also.
It looks different with the new changes; since this I have also fixed the mouth! I am pleased.
Please go to Artist of the year https://www.skyartsartistoftheyear.tv/portrait-profiles/ where you can view literally thousands of artists portraying the model. Better yet participate and post your art using instagram

Changed hair at top and mouth, took photo outside

Portrait Artist of the Year Interactive Broadcast

One of my favorite shows is Portrait Artist of the year, It can be viewed on the MAKEFUL channel. It has been postponed because of the corona virus and they have decided to make the video of the artist available to the viewers for painting. I was really excited about this. The telecast goes on Sundays and is four hours, so we get a full four hours to paint the live model on the telecast.  I just found out about it and was worried I wouldn't be able to be up at 3 am to paint for 4 hours. This week they extended the podcast for viewing all week and our model is photographer "Rankin" You can submit your artwork and join in all the fun on the instagram. So yes I did this in four hours.
