I never missed an episode of portrait artist of the week, when it finished its season and after the tv links for covid19 a facebook pair decided to keep it going and I truly love to paint a portrait weekly. This is one of the admins; Jen Ni and here is her portrait of the week. I have been too busy to paint but finally managed to get hers done. I will be picking up my painting as soon as mom's house sells.!

Birdies
My newest painting, inspired by the birds this spring. 12 x18 unframed $225.00
Noticing them more as the new kitty is mesmerized by them but quite frightened. The first time she heard them chirp she ran and hid beneath the deck. Now we just sit and watch together, she is still afraid of them. Soon she will be out of this phase....

#PAOTW Joe Spademan
This week the "portrait artist of the week" website (facebook) chose Joe Spademan
I painted him during a zoom meeting session with Dee from the FCA on Tuesday from my phone. Using such a small image i was able to paint him quicker not focusing on any of the details. That is about how much time i like spend painting these. The four hours recommended is too much! I don't think that I have spent four hours on any of them but I do tend to waste time painting, fixing, detailing, I understand when artists say they will just need to stop or the painting will get ruined. So here is my simple painting. He looks like a JOE doesn't he?Thursday, April 29, 2021

The Easter Bunny
This bunny and his friend squirrel hang out in my back yard. Also the pregnant skunk has moved back in under the shed. I hope our new kitten will leave them alone our older cat just sits on the deck and watches. Sometimes the baby skunks come right up to out feet and they roll around like little kittens. But here is the bunny from our back yard.

Stormy Clouds
Airdrie is the highest (elevation) City in Alberta and we often can see some pretty wild hail storms pass through. We seem to be on the cusp as Irricana gets its share as does Airdrie. I have the fortune to watch the clouds as they pass by the windows of my home. I can see fireworks in Calgary too, Lucky for me. Unfortunately we are on the path of planes to the airport. With Covid it sure has been quiet up in the skies except for these crazy storms..
Here are a few renditions of my hail storms painting. I decided not to send to the FCA Calgary Show. Not sure if it needs a farm, a tractor or.....
