Alberta Flood Rose Project
Heavy rains have brought extensive flooding across Alberta, especially in our part of the province Calgary/ High River. This impacting multiple communities and forcing thousands of people from their homes. Canadian Red Cross teams are actively responding across the province to ensure that immediate needs are being met.
Welcome to The Alberta Flood Rose Project.
During July 2013, The Alberta Flood Rose Project invited all Calgary and area working visual artists to create and donate an original, unframed 4"x4" (inch) piece of wall art, depicting the provincial flower of Alberta, the wild rose. The finished pieces were arranged into eight groups of 81, and were framed together as larger "collection" pieces
The flood waters rose... Albertans rose to the challenge!
This is my contribution, I painted up two different roses and added sparkles beads and resin to set them. A little different for me but they look like tiles with a nice hard gloss finish.
This is the website to view the collection and fundraisers this project is still committed to. There are posters of the art, books and even some wonderful original panels of the original artworks for purchase.
