Trying my Zhaoming Wu style of art
Well not so zhaoming wuish; I need to marry my colours the hair and the background, the face and the hair, I need to lose some edges and less contrast on the gown, I'll try this one again, now that I have critiqued my own work i think i am ready to try again

mini - The Race with mother nature
"Fields of Glory"
Farmers have been busy this week combining the fields, Here is a photo I shot of the BIG RACE between the farmer picking up the crop and mother nature descending upon his intention, making a game out of it, so typical here in Alberta

Workshop with Doug Swinton
This week I coordinated the Doug Swinton Workshop for the F C A and we had 30 minutes to create each painting, it was fun and void of the details but contained enough information to make beautiful works of art in landscape. These are poor photos but here they are:

Alberta Flood Rose Project
Heavy rains have brought extensive flooding across Alberta, especially in our part of the province Calgary/ High River. This impacting multiple communities and forcing thousands of people from their homes. Canadian Red Cross teams are actively responding across the province to ensure that immediate needs are being met.
Welcome to The Alberta Flood Rose Project.
During July 2013, The Alberta Flood Rose Project invited all Calgary and area working visual artists to create and donate an original, unframed 4"x4" (inch) piece of wall art, depicting the provincial flower of Alberta, the wild rose. The finished pieces were arranged into eight groups of 81, and were framed together as larger "collection" pieces
The flood waters rose... Albertans rose to the challenge!
This is my contribution, I painted up two different roses and added sparkles beads and resin to set them. A little different for me but they look like tiles with a nice hard gloss finish.
This is the website to view the collection and fundraisers this project is still committed to. There are posters of the art, books and even some wonderful original panels of the original artworks for purchase.

Wolf Drum
My friend Sandra set me up to paint her friends home made drum. Very authentic. So here is the underpainting. I had many ideas of plans but did not find a Cherokee symbol of the wolf lots of eagles so omitted my original idea and am going ahead with just the glare of the wolf portrait style on the drum face.
I am going to call this finished as soon as the whiskers are added
